Wed. Sept. 7th, 7pm – 10pm:

Short Film Festival

Cabbagetown’s Short Film & Video Festival returns for its 25th anniversary Wednesday September 7th at Daniels Spectrum, 585 Dundas St. East. Doors will open at 7pm with screenings 8:00pm-10:00pm. Tickets are $15 and a cash bar will be available.

Sat. Sept. 10th, 11:30am:

Opening Ceremonies

Join the crowd at 11:30am at the corner of Carlton and Parliament to hear the music, share the excitement and taste a special macaroon presented by Daniel et Daniel with Fair Trade Jewellery. One lucky macaroon holds the key to a limited edition 40th anniversary cabbage pendant from Fair Trade Jewellery.

Sat. Sept 10th, 12 – 2pm:

Cabbagetown Boxing Club’s FREE Training & Sparring

Ever wanted to learn the basics of boxing? Head on over to the Cabbagetown Boxing Club at 2 Lancaster Street (behind the The Beer Store on Parliament) 12 noon – 2pm to learn basic training and sparring from the masters.

28th Annual Cabbagetown Arts And Crafts Sale

The 28th annual arts and crafts sale returns to Riverdale Park West, (at the end of Carlton) with a juried collection of artisans showcasing their coveted works. Find gifts for just about everyone, including yourself!

Friday: 1pm – 6pm
Saturday & Sunday 10am – 6pm

Sun. Sept. 11th, 4pm:
Traditional African Dance Class

Experience the sweat and beat of a Traditional West African dance class with Lua Shayenne! This 90-minute class is geared to all levels – take things at your own pace! Lua leads a fun warm-up to start the session and thoroughly breaks down the steps in the routine. Register early!

RUN FUN

Sun. Sept 11th, 8am:
Cabbagetown Festival FUN RUN
(In support of Cabbagetown Youth Centre and formerly Blair’s Run)

Keep the tradition alive and join your community for the Cabbagetown Festival FUN RUN. All ages and all levels welcome! Meet outside Daniel et Daniel at Carlton and Parliament to register at 8am SHARP. Firing start shot 9am.

Walking Tours with The Cabbagetown Preservation Association

Learn the history of Cabbagetown. From the architecture to the people who called it home, these walking tours will enlighten and entertain!

The Cabbagetown Theatre Company Presents Sleeping Beauty

A classic tale, Sleeping Beauty is presented by the infamous Cabbagetown Theatre Company. Bring the family for 30 minutes of fun, laughter and a theatrical energy you only get to see once a year!

Riverdale Farm’s Fall Festival
(201 Winchester Street)

The best farm in any downtown core, Riverdale Farm invites you to play games, enjoy a corn roast, compete in a wheelbarrow race, learn about different farm animals and feast on their traditional pancake breakfast.

Cabbagetown Theatre Company Kid Show Banners on display

Stop into Jet Fuel at 519 Parliament and find a collection of past Cabbagetown Theatre Company Kids Show banners on display. Enjoy this blast from the past as you re-fuel with authentic “Jet Fuel” caffeine and other treats.

KID’S ZONE NOW ON CARLTON STREET

We have moved the KID’S ZONE to Carlton Street, West of Parliament. Find all sorts of fun for the kids and even parents too! Live scheduled entertainment, bouncy fun, rock climbing, face painting and so much more!

Saturday until 7pm.
Sunday until 5pm.

WIN CASH WITH A FESTIVAL SHIRT

Stop by the tents outside the BIA office at 237 Carlton street to purchase a festival t-shirt. Money raised from 40th Anniversary Festival shirts will go to our volunteer team at The Chaplain’s Office.

Volunteers will be on the look out for people wearing these shirts and will be awarding $25 cash prizes to a few lucky winners!

Mural Reveal
Winchester and Parliament LCBO

The Cabbagetown BIA with St James Town Arts and our helpful sponsors are excited to bring this true community project to life. Local residents not only helped devise what the mural should embody but picked up paint brushes and helped paint! This is a wonderful example of our community working together to create something with meaning for all to enjoy!

After a successful first year in 2015 our Made In Canada section returns for its second year on Parliament Street. Find Canadian made products grouped together for your shopping ease. Start your holiday shopping early this year and find a range of unique items to please everybody’s taste.
