Every antique has a story and so does every business owner. Bev, the owner of Green’s Antiques at 529 Parliament, is a fixture in the Cabbagetown hood, but was not the original owner, nor was Parliament Street the shop’s first home. The story of Green’s Antiques goes back a little further… well an entire generation actually!
It was approximately 50 years ago that Green’s Antiques first opened at Carlton and Yonge. The owner’s name was Lillian Green. Lillian liked antiques herself and turned her love for them into a business that would go on to become well known in the local antiquing world. Lillian was Bev’s mother.
Eventually Bev joined her mom in running the store and two worked side-by-side for 30+ years before Lillian passed away. Bev tells us the one thing her mom taught her was, above all, to be honest and always do what you say you are going to do. Today Bev runs Green’s Antiques with her mother in mind. The merchandise is always changing and they continue to offer delivery. Stop in to see the eclectic selection of jewelry, lighting, furniture, decor and more. If you don’t find what you went in for, you’re likely to find a few other things to fall in love with 😉
