Cabbagetown Living - July 2019

Here are some of the exciting things happening in the neighbourhood in the coming weeks!

Jay Hodgins - Ombak: Tidal Convergence

July 4 - August 31, 2019 @ Akasha Art Projects - 204D Carlton

Intentionally lacking recognizable subject matter, its safe to say Jay Hodgin’s powerful series Ombak: Tidal Convergence still carries strong narrative capacity taking each viewer on a personal journey. Emotional, intuitive and gestural yet described by the artist as highly planned. Dramatic tension drives the work evoking tranquility and stormy chaos simultaneously. Jay is featured in galleries across Canada, in private collections internationally, and has been featured numerous times in Shelter magazines. We look forward to welcoming him to the akasha walls soon.
