Judy Lu (center) is an Amelia Street resident in Cabbagetown, a mother of a two and six year old and owns Buds & Blossoms, 517 Parliament, a pre and after school family activity studio for local families.
Being a parent herself, Judy admits that before kids it is often easy to judge parents and their children, but once you become a mom or dad yourself, everything changes. Only another parent can truly appreciate the challenge of raising children. Judy notes parenthood changes you in just about every way possible. Parenthood is an emotional, mental and physical daily challenge with ups and downs. Her advice for other parents – Be good to yourself and give yourself a break. There is no right or wrong parenting style. Every family is different, just do your best!
Buds & Blossoms has various programs from ages 2 and up. Pre-school programs are available mornings 8:30am – 11:30am, afternoons 12:30pm – 3:30pm, or all day 8:30am – 3:30pm. After school walking pick up programs (suitable for ages 4-9yrs) are available from Winchester Public School and Spruce Court Public School and each day of the week has different class themes.
