We live in an amazing community so let's celebrate it! The BIA is proud to present a day to celebrate the people and businesses that make Cabbagetown so special. We will be inviting the community to join us once again on Saturday, December 2nd for Holiday in the Patch - a day of caroling, live music, photos with Santa, and lots of fun for the whole family!
This fun FREE event takes place Saturday, December 2nd, 12-4 pm across The Cabbagetown BIA!
The City of Toronto acknowledges that we are on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. The City also acknowledges that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.
We remember those who came here involuntarily, particularly those brought to these lands as a result of the trans-Atlantic slave trade and slavery. We pay tribute to those ancestors of African and Indian origin and descent. This city was built on the land and labour of Black, Indigenous, and racialized people.
What’s Going On in the Patch?
Santa's Village - Santa will be landing his sleigh at the BIA office, 237 Carlton, to take photos with his Cabbagetown kiddos starting at 12:30 pm!
Family Fun Zone - Join us on Carlton Street, east of Parliament, for our Family Fun Zone! There will be outdoor games, face painting, music, and surprise visits! Here, families can also pick up their Scavenger Hunt cards before searching for treats all around the BIA.
Toy Drive - We are thrilled to be partnering with Toronto Police Service 51 Division on their annual Toy Drive. Donation bins will be located at the Family Fun Zone.
Carollers and Singers - Follow our wonderful singers as they bring holiday cheer up and down Cabbagetown!
Scavenger Hunt - Families can pick up a map and paper bag from the Family Fun Zone, where they will start their quest to visit every business on the hunt! At each stop, kids will get a stamp and a good, like a candy cane, an ornament, small toy, coloring book, or more! Those who complete the Hunt will be entered to win an 1 of 3 amazing prize packs - for adults and kids alike!
