Check out what we’ve been working on!

Cabbagetown Parkscape

The Cabbagetown BIA is excited to announce a new summer long installation coming to Parliament Street this year!

#CabbagetownParkscape is an immersive public realm project designed and created as part of the Living Streets Program by Bienenstock Natural Playgrounds, with the support of the City of Toronto through former Councillor and MPP Kristyn Wong-Tam. This unique connection to nature on Cabbagetown’s main streets will continue to provide vital support to its businesses in post-pandemic recovery. Many thanks to our generous project sponsors, Fitzrovia and Centrecourt.

Wall Mural

A beautiful new wall mural has come to Cabbagetown this spring thanks to the City of Toronto Wall Mural Grant program.

Many thanks to our artist, Yasaman Mehrsa . Check it out on the east wall of F’Amelia at Amelia Street & Iroquois Lane.

Streetscape Master Plan

In late 2021, The Cabbagetown BIA initiated and commissioned the creation of a Streetscape Masterplan, which would evaluate our existing streetscape amenities and guide the continuing development of the street. The Masterplan would provide the guiding vision for public realm improvements over the next decade. After an extensive public consultation process in 2022, the Cabbagetown BIA Streetscape Masterplan was completed and filed with the City in 2023.

Thank You for Shopping Locally!

The Cabbagetown community has done so much to support our local businesses throughout the pandemic. We know these have been trying times for everyone.

To collectively show our appreciation and express our sincere gratitude, the BIA has designed these bright, lively posters for our bus shelter, community bulletin boards, and for our shops and services to display in their windows.

Thank you to Cabbagetown for continuing to support our local businesses! We are so grateful for this community.

Cabbagetown Cares

We are proud to be partnering with St. Luke’s United Church and Dixon Hall in an initiative that will provide healthy lunches for our most vulnerable residents while also supporting our local business community.

Thanks to a combination of public and private donations, six local food-based businesses will each prepare over 100 lunches to be distributed in Allan Gardens every Thursday from January 21 to February 25th.

Cabbagetown Reduces

Cabbagetown Reduces Waste is a community-driven initiative to reduce single-use plastics and packaging in our neighbourhood by encouraging both consumers and businesses to practice waste reduction together.

Participating businesses display the Cabbagetown Reduces sticker at the door and accept customers’ reusable containers whenever possible. All participating businesses are promoted on the @CabbagetownReduces instagram page, along with other waste reduction tips!

Graffiti Removal

A group of young, passionate volunteers have been going around the community and painting over unwanted tagging and graffiti.

We are very thankful for their time and hard work that has gone into beautifying our streetscape and supporting the local business community.
